waiting table

is it because love is messier
that we’re readier for order?
is that why we remain stranger
though no one knows us better
than we do about each other?

i know you don’t like waiting table
but still you’re nice to other people
i know you are a good daughter
and you want to be a good author
i even memorize one of your article
that’s why sometimes i left some books on my table
and sometimes a piece of a scented paper
the way you left an umbrella by my table
when the heavy rain wets the weather

i like it when you change my table napkin to stronger paper
so that i can sketch your feature and left a word or two to make you feel better
when the days are tougher
and the people are nastier
i always know we have each other
we can always wait for each other
at the waiting table
