Day 4

Today was mostly a travel day for the Legge family. Our next destination was Hua Hin. We woke up in Bangkok, Ben still wasn’t feeling great, and we slowly packed up. The night before many of us had fallen asleep and forgot to eat dinner, so we were very hungry. Luckily the Hyatt we were staying at had a very nice free breakfast which I wish we had for the rest of the trip! After breakfast, which we ate at 6:30, we rested in bed for a while, in no rush to get to Hua Hin.

We left our hotel around 10 and all the kids were very excited to go to Hua Hin because our next hotel had a big water slide and a huge pool for them to play in.

My dad rented a taxi to get there because it was about a 2 1/2 drive. Unlike the times on this trip that my family squeezed into a 4 person taxi, this taxi was a huge van. I mean “huge van” like you could turn it into something to live in. Despite its size, on the outside it looked just like a normal van. However, when we got to the inside it looked like a full on hippie/circus van. The roof had mirrors and gold on it. The front of the van had cabinets full of different alcohol, and the seats were covered in a grey material with big pictures of cartoon elephants! I sorta felt like I was back home in Grass Valley with all the hippies, it was pretty great.

The car ride was pretty fun. We stopped a a 7-eleven and my dad got the weirdest flavored chips. We also spotted a pretty cool building that my dad named the jenga building because the architecture made it look like it was falling apart in a jenga like manner.

When we got to the Hyatt we were all very impressed. The hotel is right on the gulf of Thailand. The sand on the beach was very soft and very fine. The landscaping of the hotel was beautiful and the pool and water slide were very fun.

For most of the rest of the day we relaxed by the pool and explored around the hotel. The kids had lots of fun on the water slide and swimming in the pool.

Later that night we went out into the town of Hua Hin and scouted out some dinner. We ended up at a very American restaurant, and most of us got burgers. I got fish and chips, and my mom got some curry soup thing. The younger kids got very tired so we decided to head back to the hotel and my parents went out to get a massage. I tried to stay up later so I could stop waking up at 2:30 and wake up at a decent time. We are after all 15 hours ahead and it’s a lot to get used too. Hopefully Ben gets better soon and nobody else gets sick. I have a feeling that tomorrow we will be relaxing quite a bit, tune in tomorrow to read about it😁
