How to never forget to reply to emails

In this article I am going to show you how I implement the InboxZero rule using Thunderbird and Trello.

Recently, I was involved in organizing an event and was getting a lot of emails about that. I was a big fan of using automated email labels to organize my inbox, but the system failed on me once, and this was an important email close to a deadline. Making it short — we missed the deadline and I realized my system was not good enough.

Taking a break and searching the web for some inspiration on how to better organize my inbox, I came across the InboxZero idea. The idea, as always, is simple: anything that is in your inbox is unfinished and needs an action. An action could be a response, a forward or also a note that you should take. That also means that anything that is done should not stay in your inbox, but be rather moved to a folder or be archived.

As always, an idea stays just an idea until you put things to work. So let’s just implement this thing and give it a try.
