How to Improve at Anything

I have come across many things that I want to improve on my life. Many of them, things that everybody talks about improving on: work-life balance, social and romantic life, better productive, better health, more money. Ya know, standard stuff. But I am starting to realize that there are two types of people.

Those who are organized, and those who aren’t.

If you are the latter, like me, you never realize how important organization of materials and time is until you try to attain well into a quarter of your lifespan. But being a child of the internet has me optimistically naive that I can accomplish most things if not all (I see you rolling your eyes at me).

But it’s also very apparent the amount of work that something like becoming healthy is going to take. Accounting for hours spent working, managing school, social life, and family, making any other signficant adjustments to any lifestyle presents many challenges.

But that’s why this is the quote that will drive me for the rest of this year.

I have discussed this in other articles, but I think many people don’t understand how measurable acts and activities can dramatically reduce stress while simultaneously changing your life. One of the more important things that comes to mind is fitness. Whether you are trying to lose weight, gain weight, pack on muscle, tone up, be a better athlete, or learn a new skill, almost everything in fitness can be measured. From your caloric and sugar intake, to how much weight you push, one can always measure your health and fitness goals like nothing else can be measured.

If you want to get healthier & fitter

If you want to get more productive

If you want to grow your network

If you want to be more creative

All of these things or a handful of things suggested can all be measured and compounded over time. Want to write better? = Learn three new words everyday and put them in your material. Want to be better at your instrument? = learn a new song everyday. Want to be more productive & efficient? = batch tasks together and see how much time you save. All of these things and more are measurable and quantifiable. Take some time to see what you can measure and improve on today.
