The Rain Wish!

Not used to the heat and the sun

When we have a rare summer
In our land of cold
We tend to enjoy the sun the most
Sitting on my front patio
Too lazy to stand up and grab a drink
It is a welcome change after a long time
Eyes behind the shades
Looking as far as the wooden fence
Green grass and colorful flowers
A fine wind gushing by
It seems to be a perfect day
As far my summer plan goes

Not used to the heat and the sun
The first drop of sweat
Made me do a wish to the god
It would be nice
If it rains a bit for now
and calms it down
Surprise, Surprise
God did listen to me this time
Cloud appeared from nowhere
It looked almost dark behind my shades
Before I took my shades off
And judge the weather change
A drop fell on my hand

I gushed, it will go away
We just needed some respite from the heat
Then it started to drizzle
It seems still positive
As I look towards the sky
The sun seems to be shining
Somewhere far from my place
I start keeping things inside
With the intent to bring them back
As soon the rain stops

I made another wish
God, please stop this rain
I took a day off from my work
To enjoy the sun
I consulted my weather app
Invited friends for a summer barbeque
And now it is pouring water from the sky
God seems to get busy
With his other disciples
He generally does that when
You need him the most

I learned my lesson
Better to enjoy what you got first
And then maybe ask for more
As stubborn as I am
Refused to go inside
I took my umbrella out
And started to enjoy the rain for now
Not the bad deal
If it rains after a long time
The grounds thirst
Is quenched
Start to smell very earthy again…
