You Have the Chance to Witness a Miracle

This musical event will probably never happen again

In less than a week, if you have access to CBS or Paramount +, you’ll be able to watch an incredibly special performance as Tony Bennett joins Lady Gaga at Radio City Music Hall to give his last concert.

What makes it special? Tony Bennett is 95 years old.

What makes it incredible? He has Alzheimer’s.

So often, tickets to premiere shows like this sell out quickly, and only those who are wealthy or extremely lucky have the privilege of the experience. How fortunate that we have the opportunity to witness this amazing event. While not the live performance, it is still a gift. I am grateful that it will be broadcast on a major network, rather than a premium cable network or streaming service.

If you plan on watching this special, I recommend watching the segment on 60 Minutes beforehand. It will allow you to see how the power of music and Bennett’s supportive relationships enable him to shine. Knowing the challenges he’s facing behind the curtain makes his performance all the more amazing. Even something as destructive as Alzheimer’s can’t strip away his deeply rooted talent. The joy he feels when singing survives.

I’m glad to have the chance to witness this miraculous celebration. I’ll be at Radio City Music Hall on Sunday, watching from my front-row seat on the couch.
